Remembrance 2018
"As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that
the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them."
Joseph Campbell
A beautiful display of remembrance by Classes 3 and 4 as we teach the next generation of children about sacrifices made so we may live in peace.

KS2 Football Tournament @ Alde Valley Academy
A HUGE well done to our KS2 football team this afternoon, who played in a tournament at Alde Valley Academy against 4 other local schools. The boys played 4 amazing games of football without conceding a single game! They won their first 3 games and this gave them a great confidence boost as they entered their final game against Coldfair Green. This was a tense game to watch as both teams were playing incredible football. In the end, both teams defended extremely well to ultimately result in a 0-0 draw. Therefore, the 1st and 2nd places overall in the tournament came down to goal difference. Incredibly, it was a goal difference of just 2 goals which meant that Kelsale placed 2nd overall. A great effort from all of the children, who have made their school very proud. Well done boys!

Dance Performances by Class 3 and 5
We would like to say a huge thank you to Sam Moss for working with Classes 3 and 5 over the past half-term and teaching them some fantastic dance. In Class 3, they were looking at recreating movements that they would find in a rainforest. You may recognise the prowling and swiping of jaguars, as well as swooping of monkeys. In Class 5, their dances were created purely based on a piece of abstract art: Pessimism and Optimism by Giacomo Balla. You may be able to identify the sharp edges, points and corners of pessimism, as well as the soft, smooth curves of optimism within their movements. The children had an incredible half-term experimenting with movements, which they helped to create using their imaginations. Thank you Mrs Moss!

Leon Baptiste's Visit
What an amazing afternoon we had today! The children relished the opportunity to meet the Commonwealth Gold Medalist, Leon Baptiste. He put the children through their paces to complete a fun, intense fitness circuit, which they all absolutely loved participating in!
After that, the children were able to learn more about Leon's achievements and what motivated him to become an incredibly successful athlete. Leon explained to them the number of set back that he had experienced, but that he never gave up and that determination was what led him to success.
We hope that this has/will inspire our children to persevere in order to be the best they can be!
