Spellbinder

We were treated today with another visit from The Spellbinder.  Unfortunately, Spellbinder lady is still not very well but we send her our love and best wishes.

It is difficult, with just the aid of a camera, to capture the magic Spellbinder brings with him every time he visits.  The only way you can get a clue is to look at the faces of the children who are enthralled by his stories and giggle during his songs and dances.  Please enjoy the pictures below (first set- KS1 and second set- KS2).

Football match- Kelsale CEVCP Versus Benhall

A fabulous turn out by parents (and some rowdy staff) to support the two teams.  Both teams showed amazing sportsmanship and cheered each other on, whether they were playing or not.  As Mrs Taylor said, it made her feel very proud, not only because of the performance of the teams, winning one match (4-1) and losing the next (with a very close 0-1), but also on the way the teams supported each other.

Fantastic work Kelsale!

Harvest parcels delivered to the Community

Thank you to the amazing parents who gave their time to parcel up all the harvest contributions and to those who gave their time to deliver the parcels with all of KS2 children. We met some lovely people on our journey around Kelsale on a beautiful sunny morning.

Harvest Festival 2014

Another lovely Harvest service showing the children at their very best.
Well done Kelsale CEVCP school.

Year 6 'Wake over' camping night

Well, the Year 6's were not kidding when they affectionately names the camping night the 'Wake over'.  Despite a very late night and a very early morning (the girls actually woke up Rodney the Rooster), we all had an amazing time with lots of giggles and fun.
We started the afternoon by putting up tents and setting up camp (a massive thank you to parents for loaning equipment and help putting up tents).
We followed this with games of football, rounders and a swim in the pool before settling down to a BBQ tea.
The evening continued with more food, much laughter and some circus skills before PJ's were put on and children went to their tents.

What seemed like only a couple of hours later, the girls were awake and using their sleeping bags for sack races and their new game, sleeping bag Mexican waves (I will try and upload the video as soon as possible). My camera was hijacked by the girls, so the photos are mostly taken by them.

A massive thank you to Mr Gill and Mr Morphy for their time and sleep time to enable this lovely event to take place.

As, I said initially, despite the lack of sleep, I, personally, had a fabulous time and will take with me many beautiful memories of a beautiful group of year 6 children whom I will miss very much.
We all wish them all the best for their transfer at high school xxx.

Year 6 Blessing Service 2014

On Monday morning, the whole school (it is now one seriously long crocodile line) walked down to the church on a lovely July morning.  We were met by Rev. Andy who led the blessing service.  The year 6 children read out their memories of life at Kelsale school, renewing memories for the staff and making us giggle.  Rev. Andy then gave individual blessings for the children, wishing them luck for the next part of life's journey.

Country Dancing

After school picnic today, all of KS2 and a band of happy helpers walked down to Carlton Park for a country dancing festival.  We were greeted by a live band and several other schools ready to dance.
We skipped the afternoon away and had an amazing time, as can be seen by the photos below.

A huge thank you to all the children for their brilliant behaviour and a massive thank you to all the helpers for their support and fabulous dance moves!
