Christmas Church Service 2019

What a fantastic end to the term our Christmas Church Service was! We are incredibly proud of our children, as always, for singing so beautifully and behaving impeccably well yesterday afternoon. Thank you to all those who attended the service and helped with the walk; we hope that you enjoyed our Christmas Nativity Story told through song. A special mention to the fantastic effort from our festive Friends and Governors, who surprised us on the way with their own nativity scene! Now it is time to enjoy the well-earned holidays. Have a very merry Christmas, one and all!

KS2 Football Tournament

A HUGE well done to all of the children who participated in today's football competition at Alde Valley Academy. This year, we took both a boys' and girls' team, who performed incredibly well with utmost sportsmanship as always. When they weren't on the pitch, both teams supported each other and gave great feedback and encouragement along the sidelines. Thank you also to the great parental support received today - we appreciate you embracing the bitterly cold weather! Well done to the boys' team, who finished joint second and to the girls' team, who obliterated all competition and finished first! You all made Nick and I very proud today.

Interfaith Week 2019

We had a fantastic 5 days at school celebrating Interfaith Week last week with all classes learning about different religions. Classes 1, 2 and 3 were lucky enough to have a session exploring and learning about the features of the local church whilst Class 5 visited the Synagogue in Norwich. Thank you for your support in making these trips possible. Back at school, Class 6 thoroughly enjoyed being 'teachers' and imparting knowledge onto Classes 3 and 4 all about the Five Pillars of Islam.

Class 5 trip to Norwich Synagogue

I couldn't be more proud of our amazing class. They had the most fantastic experience and the opportunity to share their knowledge with a member of the Jewish community.  They answered questions extremely well and behaved in a very respectful manner.  A perfect way to consolidate our learning.

Day of Light Celebration

Today, the whole school celebrated the 'Day of Light', which took many forms across the different classrooms. Classes 1, 2 3 and 4 learnt about the Story of Creation in Christianity and you can see the symbols of light created by Class 3 in the photos. In Class 5, the children explored Judaism and the link to light through Hanukkah, as well as the various Jewish artefacts seen in the images. Finally, Class 6 delved into the symbolism surrounding light within the Qur'an when looking at the religion, Islam. Their photos show quotes of how light is symbolic to themselves and the world around them.

Reward Afternoon

Well done to the Yellow team for all of their hard work last half-term, which they reaped the reward for this afternoon! All children from the Yellow house enjoyed a very exciting afternoon of sport as a result of their team earning the most accumulative house points in the first half-term of the year.

So the challenge is on this half-term...which team will win this time?
