On Monday, the children prepared their Christingles ready for the service today, discussing the symbolism behind the different elements. Today, Miss Coppens-Browne led the service, which was so stunning and peaceful as the children sat quietly in candle light.
Also in the mix, some photos of the heron we saw strutting around the school field this morning. A tough subject for the photos Mrs Gill, but you caught it!

Class 6 French Cafe with Saxmundham Free School.
Thank you Miss Holgate for the following blog post.
Madame Wooliams and Madame Morton came to visit Class 6 to deliver a French Cafe. They learnt a vast range of food and drink vocabulary which was put to the test when they carried out the role play of being a 'server' and 'client' in ordering and delivering French food. Even better, they got to eat what they ordered!

Interfaith Day at Kelsale
Today we celebrated Interfaith Day, learning a little more about some of the World's religions. We welcomed Sikh, Bhupinda Sually and Muslim, Mohammad Alam into school. They spent time in all classes discussing their beliefs, looking at similarities between the world's religions and answering our questions.
During the rest of the day, we experimented with a range of art work looking at symbols, use of colour, shape and calligraphy.
A huge thank you to our guests and to Miss Coppens-Browne for organising.

Mr Aderonmu's Music lesson with Class 6
Yesterday, Class 6 were extremely fortunate in that they were visited by the Music Teacher from Alde Valley Academy, Mr K Aderonmu. Much to the
children's delight, Mr Aderonmu guided them through an excellent singing
session, where they learnt Ed Sheeran's 'Shape of You' and 'Thinking out Loud'.
Within the space of 1 hour, Year 6 were singing beautiful, as well as creating
superb harmonies between them. At the end of the session, some children even
performed their own handwritten songs to Mr Aderonmu, who then accompanied them
with melodies. What a fantastic opportunity for these very musically talented
children!
A huge thank you for a fab afternoon.

Years 4 and 5 Football tournament
The children always look so smart in their Kelsale Football kit, and once again we were not disappointed. They had an amazing, exhausting afternoon playing matched against other local schools. Their behaviour was impeccable, as was their sportsmanship. We feel so proud of them for all these reasons and more.

East of England Ambulance Service- 'Restart The Heart'
What a fab day! A huge thank you to Alistair, Josh and Michael (East Of England Ambulance service) who spent most of the day with us as part of the 'Restart The Heart' campaign.
The children were enthralled by the ambulance itself as they played with the siren and flashing blue light, tried on the uniform and splints.
Inside the school, the children were put through their paces as they strove to keep Annie alive with intensive CPR and put each other in the recovery position.
A huge thank you to all the guys. The photos only just begin to show what an amazing time we had.

2016/2017 Round up.
Sitting at home feeling very nostalgic about the fantastic school year we are about to finish. I always head straight to the photos to reminisce. I was truly shocked at all the different things we've got up to during the year:
Church services, days out, new pool,
guy making, apple peeling, celebrity meeting,
dancing, singing, sporting(!),
making new friends, working together, eating together,
being silly, being sad,
celebrating, money raising
OFSTEDing, SATs busting
But most of all, just being Kelsale, in all its glory. We are truly privileged to be part of such a wonderful school. Thank you xxx

Year 5 at Thomas Mills High School, Framlingham
Year 5 were treated to a fun filled day at Thomas Mills High School today.
The day was a combination of science, business and Media and Athletics events, all linked to staying healthy.
The day was incredibly well planned and we were very well looked after by all the staff and children.
Although very quiet (and some even asleep) on the journey back to school, the children all agreed that it was a fantastic day and a real taste of what Thomas Mills has to offer.
Thank you so much for the experience.
