Today, not only did we say a sad goodbye to two pupils, but we had to say goodbye to our 'One of a kind' Mrs Ward.
She was given a very 'personalised' send off with confetti cannons!
We will all miss her so very much and school will never be the same without her. Despite this, we wish her all the best in her new job and would like her new school to know just how lucky they are to have her and please look after her for us.
Lots of Love xxx

Happy Retirement Mrs Bruce
Mrs Bruce has been a dinner lady at Kelsale for 30 years. She was working at the school when some of the children's parents were pupils. She supervised her last lunchtime today, which was followed by an emotional thank you and good bye. Thank you Mrs Bruce xx
Thank you Lucy and Natasha
A huge thank you to Lucy and Natasha, both whom look after us all in the kitchen and ensure we has delicious meals all year round. Thank you so much xxx

Class 1 and 2 Christmas Party
After many party games, the children settled down to some party food kindly donated by some of the parents. Some of the food was so good, it had to be 'sampled' by the members of staff! Thank you to all.

Classes 1 and 2 Play- Angel Express
A huge well done to classes 1 and 2 this afternoon on the first of two Christmas plays. The rest of the school very much enjoyed the play on Monday morning, with the very amusing Angel choir and the very shocked shepherds awoken from sleep in the fields near Bethlehem.
A huge well done to all the children, teachers, for their hard work and parents for providing the costumes.
Class 3 and 5 Circuit Training
Some of classes 3 and 5 had a fabulous work out this morning, courtesy of one of our Year 5 boys, who design, set out, modelled and then monitored and feedback to the rest of the children. He did such an amazing job of positively feeding back to his peers, I was inspired to take photographs.

Saxmundham Free School visit
We were lucky enough to have a visit from Saxmundham free school pupils this afternoon. They took time out of their busy timetable to read their favourite picture books to Classes 2 and 3.
As you can see from the photos below, the children clearly enjoyed their afternoon. Thank you so much.

Everlasting Light 2016
To top off a busy day, 18 children, plus parents and staff, met at The Spa Pavilion, Felixstowe for the finale of all the hard work on the Everlasting Light project.
Once again, we were stunned at the number of people, who gave their time and expertise to ensure the concert went smoothly.
But, again, we were over-whelmed by the performance of our children, in fact all the children on stage last night. Despite the long day, the children sung their socks off, bringing tears to the eyes of those watching. We all experienced a huge feeling of pride, and had a most magical evening.

Kelsale Christmas Fayre 2016
There were some initial teething problems with the printing of photos with Father Christmas, but this was solved as soon as it was possible to. If you didn't receive your photograph, either take the image from the file below, or contact the school office, and we will organise a print for you.
A huge thank you to Fiona Wilson, Carla Denny and the other valuable members of the School friends for their hard work, both on the day, but equally importantly, the tireless efforts in the weeks leading up to this mamouth event.
Without the hard work for the Kelsale Friends, chidlren in the school would not have access to some of those extra, memorable experiences: Trips which are financially supported, equipment purchased and time given. It is very much appreciated.

Christmas Decoration Day 2016
I can't believe this has come around again, and another year has passed. We shook out the tissue paper, collected the paper plates and rustled up some googly eyes ready to make Kelsale 'Christmasy'. After an early morning wrestle with the Christmas tree, we were ready.
As you can see from the photos, the children were fully focused on the tasks and produced some beautiful pieces to decorate the school, all ready for the Christmas Fayre on Saturday (10-12pm).
We look forward to seeing you all there.

Apple Harvest 2016
The apple trees on the school field produced a glut of fruit this year. Mrs Taylor and groups of children went out onto the school field and picked the apples and collected the windfalls. The children then spent some time peeling and chopping the apples to give to Lucy in the kitchen to incorporate into puddings. This sounds delicious. We can't wait.

Year 3/4 walk along the Smuggler's pathway
Despite the possibility of poor weather, years 3 and 4 wrapped up in their wet weather gear and took the coach to Snape. Here they walked the pathway, as local smugglers would have done many years ago, visualising what it may have been like in the cold of night.
They then moved onto Sizewell and Dunwich, stopping in at the Dunwich museum to discover more about the ever changing (and diminishing) coastline.
Well done to Mrs Rolfe and other members of staff for giving the children a try insight and a huge thank you to the parent helpers for taking the time to help us out.

Theatre Trip to see Michael Rosen
Years 3, 4 and 5 were delighted to attend Children's Bookshow 2016 at the Marina Theatre in Lowestoft, to see Michael Rosen perform some of his stories and poems. We have all spent time enjoying and giggling at his work at school, and were bubbling with excitement as we waited outside the theatre.
And enjoyed our snacks inside the theatre...
We were definitely not disappointed.
Particularly Mrs Mansell...
Inspired, we returned to school to draw our brains (you had to be there), before enjoying 'Eddie and the car'.
A fab day.

Guy-Making Afternoon 2016
Despite the threat of rain, and a much cooler afternoon than we've experienced recently, Classes 5 and 6 took the donated clothing out to the car park to produce guys for the Kelsale Fire work and Bonfire night (Saturday 5th November).
As you can see from the photographs in this link, the results were superb.
We all had lots of fun!

Everlasting Light
Just a huge apology. It has taken me a little while to get around to organising photos from this amazing event.
It was astonishing to see so many volunteers sharing their expertise and time out of the goodness of their hearts. It was also an amazing experience to be a part of, and certainly a new experience.
A huge thank you to all the parents who took time out of their weekend to drive their children to the recording. The CD and DVD will be released soon and we have the performance at the Spa Pavilion to look forward to.
